Reply:You need to get some seed/plant catalogues. They have pictures of the flowers and shrubs so you can see what you like. They also will have a map of the US with hardiness zones. Jackson is either in zone 8 or 9. (the map I have at hand is very small).





The catalogues also tell you whether the plants needs sun or shade, rich soil or poor soil, wet or dry soil, etc.
