What flowers/plants grow well in an old burn pile?

I have a burn pile that I leveled out and want to turn into a flower bed. There is still quite a bit of ash residue that has decomposed from age. What plants would work well?

Preffered colorful, and foliage

Ashes are a poor source of Nitrogen tho....it%26#039;s lost to the heat when the wood burns. So if your soil is Nitrogen poor...adding ashes wont help and you%26#039;ll have to get Nitrogen into the soil another way.

good luck
Reply:well pretty much any plant will grow in ashes as long as its not to ashy(you need to have some dirt there) but also weeds love ash piles or where there is no competition with other plants, im prety sure ash one of the better fertilizers.
Reply:sunflowers will grow in anything, they are very hardyaffiliate
